well, like other intakes, it should be doing useful things along the way, like internal moisturising.
Ever see something really dried out like a flower or piece of fruit? YUK! I would think, logically, that anything is better when continuously flushed with water.

To drink plenty of water is good advice, but you can overdo it. If you want an alternative health drink, try green tea. It might take some getting used to but once you've acquired the taste, it's really quite nice. It has many health benefits, not the least of which is that it's great for your digestion after meals. Water helps flush out toxins from your body, which are what make our wee yellow. Most people associate our wee as being apple juice colour but this is actually a sign that youre not drinking enough water. If you drink around 2 litres a day you will be constantly going to the toilet, but youll notice your wee is much clearer, which means you are ridding your body of toxins. Water is also incredibly good for your skin, it keeps it hydrated and is therefore good for slowing down the aging process!

your pee is clearer when you are drinking tons of water because the other components of pee are just more diluted! If drinking loads of water really got rid of more "toxins" you would still do lots of wees but it would be the 'regular' yellow colour.

Remember that we get a decent amount of water from the food we eat. The whole '2 litres of water' thing stemmed from a misunderstanding, it is that, give or take, 2 litres of fluid should go into your body every day. That can be from food, tea, coffee, juice, water etcetera. (yes I know tea and coffee are diuretics and too much isn't necessarily a good thing). You do not need to drink an additional 2 litres of water. That WILL just come straight out the other end without being used by any part of the body.

The human body is amazing and can look after itself very well even in the most dire circumstances. It makes the most of what you give it. As long as your body has enough fluid going into it everyday in whatever form, anything you drink over and above that will just contribute to you going to the loo lots, nothing more.
